41S Series Economy DC Loads


The 41S Series DC loads offer an economical test solution in a bench top form factor.

Both 41S Series models are available in 250W, 350W ando 700W power levels. Available input voltage ranges are either 0~80Vdc or 0~500Vdc. All models offer a wide V-I constant power load profile. The compact form factor of these DC Loads makes them convenient for bench use or ATE test systems.

The 41S Series bench-top DC Electronic Loads are well suited for testing multiple output AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, battery chargers and other power products. Target applications for these loads are research & development, production test, incoming inspection, quality control and service.
The high power density of the 41S Series bench top units support up to 700W in a compact form factor. They are available with currents up to 140Adc and input voltage up to 80Vdc or 500Vdc. All models offer dual range capability for optimal accuracy and resolution. Priced attractively, these economy DC loads provide a cost-effect DC power test solutions for many applications.

Quick Charger Tester (Opt QCT): This plug-in module works with 41S Series DC loads and provides support for testing mobile device chargers that conform to the following charging protocols:

Load Versatility

All APS 41S Series bench loads are equipped with a powerful microcontroller and user friendly controls to provide capabilities that cover a wide range of load applications. Built in metering of Voltage, Current, Power and Resistance.

Power Supply Testing

With a choice of low voltage and high current or high voltage and lower current models, the 41S loads support testing of wide range of DC power products and AC/DC converters. The ability to execute automated load sequences and apply fast programmable current slew rates provides extensive testing and evaluation of power supply loop response and stability for a broad range of products.

Power Supply Design

With built-in features like over current protection (OPC) test and over power protection (OPP) test and dynamic constant current waveform testing, new power supply designs can be thoroughly evaluated against design specifications. An analog input mode allows arbitrary current waveforms to be applied to a unit under test as well.

Battery Charge/Discharge Testing

Time sequencing of specific discharge current levels as a function of battery voltage allows characterization and performance testing of various battery chemistries. The high current resolution and accuracy of the 41T Series load modules supports testing of very small batteries for portable device applications. The 41S Series DC loads offer built-in battery discharge profiles.

Current Protection Device Testing

Testing of current protection devices like fuses, circuit breakers or PTC’s is automated using special test modes that increment current levels while tracking time to open on 41S model DC load modules.
